Use of Conventions
My film challenges conventions of my genre, drama, because usually when a pregnancy scene is shown, most of the perspective is the girls. However, in my film I chose to focus more on the perspective of the boy. My film represents teen social groups and how getting pregnant as a teen is usually is negative. Teen pregnancy is a big issue as well as distracted driving. At the end of the film the boy is not focused on the road and ends up getting in a crash. This brings awareness to how bad things happen when we don't focus on the road. Socially, i would like to bring awareness to how teens handle certain situations and how they could better be approached. With teen pregnancy, both the boy and girl are going through emotions and dealing both it together rather than blowing up and leaving is the better response. Dealing with stressful situations usually leads people to think and be in their heads a lot. Driving in this state is very dangerous. Which is also shown in the film.
