In the opening scene to Burlesque, its starts with a two-shot of the main character at her restaurant talking to the other waitress and manger saying she is leaving. with closeups of their faces showing the main girl is serious about leaving. She is left alone in the restaurant and pulls up a chair and puts money in the jukebox and starts to sing. It cuts back and forth to the main character singing in her home town restaurant and a club named Burlesque in LA with girls dancing. This cutting is foreshadowing where she will be in regards to where she is now. It then cuts to the main girl packing her suitcase up and quickly trying ti get everything together showing that she want to move away from the small town life. It then cuts to her walking and leaving to a bus stop. There are long shots showing her walking away and this can be a way to show her leaving a type of life behind. The opening scene is basically her travelling from a small town to the big city. There is synchronous and asynchronous sound of her singing and the scenes continue with her voice in the background. The locations of the hometown to the bug city show her transition to a unusual place. The credits are not in the opening scene. The budget was 35 million dollars and the film made 130 million dollars. The movie won the Golden Globes.
