The first film opening I will be discussing is from the movie "The First Time". The first two minutes of the movie is mostly displaying the setting of where it will all begin and a few shots of one of the main characters showing it looks like he has a problem. Film techniques that are used include a pane across a cars two tail lights and then the title shows up with a girl getting out of car then jump cuts of different kids at the party all drinking or being wild. Then there are cuts between the party and one of the main characters outside the party making it look like the character is preparing for something. Many of the party scenes have a well rounded atmosphere showing what goes on at a high school party. There is incidental music that is upbeat and goes in tune with the tone of that start of the move. The opening credits have the actors, music composers, casting directors, costume designers, editors, and producers. The production budget was 2 million dollars and domestically, the film made $22,836 in gross. The film was nominated for 2012 Sundance film festival but has not won any awards.
